Cracked Valve Riser

Most valves have a concrete splash pad/ring poured around to help with erosion. Over time water can move away the sediment supporting the concrete pad and or equipment drives over the pad. The pipe is installed vertically and has little support other than the sediment around it. With a concrete pad the pipe is than top heavy. Once this shifts it can cause the riser to separate or fracture. Repairs can be made to most risers but in some cases it is best replaced.
